Need some help here, Whenever i Plug in an external Mic/headset it does not disable my internal mic. Using Windows XP, I have tried going into all the sound device options with no success. Does anyone have an Idea of how to permanatly disable the internal mic??

Go into hardware devices and disable it manually.

Is it a USB headset/mic? In that case, it is not using your sound card at all so you would need to select the microphone through the Sound properties.

No it is not a USB Headset, for whatever reason it will not disable the internal at all. I also have a dell and soon as i plug in my headset in the dell the internal mic is disabled.
