I don't use the RAID features and only have one internal hard drive (750GBs) that I'll be switching out for a 1.5TB hard drive. Now I have contacted HP support about this and they said they'll get back to me...it's been 2 months and no response.

I have searched my entire BIOS settings for anything to do with RAID and I only found one action, enable the RAID OROM UI, I enabled it and it doesn't show. I tried doing Ctrl+N, Ctrl+I, Ctrl+Delete (not backspace), and just the delete key (I looked at other forums and they talked about using one of those mentioned action keys) and nothing has revealed the RAID menu yet.

I searched other forums and they told me that AHCI mode is technically on but the primary setting is RAID, which it is in my case.

I just want to get access to the RAID menu in my BIOS, how can I make this happen?

In the Envy 17, there are NO settings in the BIOS other than what you already mentioned in your first post! What you need to do is gain access to your RAID via the INTEL RAID Software on your Envy. This can be found in the Start menu / all programs area, OR it is also in your System Tray (Lower Left Corner, although it may not be showing. If it is NOT showing, just open your properties and enable it to show always). Since I have my System Tray icon showing all of the time, I just access it via that icon...

Whats strange though, is you say you only have ONE hard drive, correct? For a RAID 0 config to work as designed, it needs to have TWO hard drives. So, I guess you'll see whats up once you access the INTEL RAID program..

By the way, you would get faster results to your question if you posted it here:

Since this thread is specific to your Envy. Hope this helps and please keep us posted!

I do have only one Hard drive, the 750GB hard drive, and what's funny is that I dont see any intel RAID software installed... now im confused, because I know my hard drive is in RAID mode because when I try to connect another drive via my eSATA port and transfer some files over, It tells me I cant cause my internal hard drive is a RAID-enabled and can't transfer the files. yet another reason to switch to AHCI mode.

Is their an intel program I can download to disable my RAID process?

also... like I said in my original post, I had a "Enable RAID OROM UI" setting in my BIOS. How can I access this UI? it doesnt show up in my BIOS settings after I enable it...

    EDIT:

I do have Intel Rapid Storage Technology installed, but it has no settings for RAID that i can find.
