How often does HP offer decent discounts on the HP Pavilion laptops? Specifically the DV6TQE? Not quite ready to buy but has there been a general time frame? And are there any current decent discounts?

There's always some promotion for it out. Some are slightly better than others. Right now 425 off a dv6t quad.

Yes, there's almost constantly something going on. They vary the promotions between something on the order of 30% off and a large cash discount on the order of $400. It fluctuates a bit, but not much. If you plan to buy a significantly upgraded machine (i.e. more than $1200 at HP's "base" price), wait for the percent discount. If not, you're better off with cash one.

Thanks for that discount code. +1 (will add rep tomorrow as I spent too much today already!) How long is that code valid for? I can get the config I want for under $1000 shipped. Pretty good deal. :D

After x (hp seems to like the number 900) amount of uses they expire, or a certain date. Maybe a week or two before you might need to worry about it expiring since this code just came out. The 30% just expired recently. (I think yesterday)
