    I know that when I first received my laptop I had read that it wasn't possible to view the remaining time that the laptop would run on battery, and was a bit disappointed, but decided that I could live with a percentage. Well, I have recently found a sidebar gadget that will do the trick.

    iStat Battery Mod2

    It took a few minutes for it to show the time, and at first it wasn't very accurate, but with a little bit of use it has appeared fairly accurate ever since.

    Hope this helps others.

    the mioplanet battery meter is pretty accurate. it stays on top of everything, so you could see the time.

    http://www.mioplanet.com/products/batterymeter/

    Notice: The time is displayed when accuracy reaches 3 percent or more. The value of the accuracy is for the estimation of remaining time.

    I installed it. Pretty neat program, except I choose not to autostart it with Windows. Now after installed, there are no options or tools inside the program that will make it autostart when windows start. Ofcourse I can add a shortcut to startup folder any time, but is there anything I am missing inside the little program. Or is there any other way to make it autostart????

    Just use the startup folder, it's all the same.

    Am I missing something? The second program mentioned only shows percentage, not time remaining. When you open the options -- are shown.

    That's what I ran into using the sidebar gadget. After that it has worked great ever since.

    @prabhg

    You can go to the Program Files and select Uninstall or Repair. Select repair but I am going to assume it just places a shortcut in the Startup folder.

    I used this program and it ran beautifully and estimated correctly, UNTIL I calibreated my battery. After calibration, it started showing weird values, and highly incorrect estimations. To start with, it was showing some negetive decimal numbers in the estimated time required to charge, and then battery life became longer than 16 hours. I uninstalled and reinstalled it 3 times, as I like the way its built, but its estimations are way off... So watch out...
