Id like to know how to do this since my room mate is driving me crazy with the loud music almost every day now and I figured if I just disconnect the speakers and leave the sound card in he can use the headphone jack and use his headset instead of the internal speakers.

I just dont know how to get to the speakers let alone where it would be located inside the chasis.

This is a dv6700 CTO from hp direct June 2008 :

    - HP Pavilion dv6700t Entertainment CTO NB
    - Upgrade to Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
    - Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T9300 (2.50GHz)
    - 15.4" diagonal WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)
    - 1GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    - 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS - For Core 2 Duo Processors
    - HP Imprint Finish (Radiance) + Microphone + Webcam
    - Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network Connection
    - 320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
    - SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support
    - No TV Tuner w/remote control
    - 12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
    - $20 OFF Norton 360(TM ) - 15 Months
    - System Recovery DVD with Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit)
    - Microsoft(R) Works 9.0
    - HP Home & Home Office Store in-box envelope

Surely there must be a way to easily access the speaker connection and just simply disconnect it. My room mate wont know how to reconnect the speakers let alone open the chasis so problem will be solved :D

Please help me out if you can. Thanks!

P.s. What kind of screw driver do I need to open the chasis; 4-head but what kind?

Discussion of illegal activities like breaking into someone elses property is against the forum rules. If you have a problem with your roommate, take it up with him, talk to the manager or RA(if its a college), or move out.
