    Distorted bright colors

    Hello everyone! I have a really annoying problem that's preventing me from enjoying my new HP dv7-1285dx notebook!

    Bright colors (mainly white) aren't displayed right on the screen! Graphics with bright colors look kinda distorted and a little pixilated... Here is a screenshot (that I took with my camera) to show a portion of what I'm talking about:

    Here's another example from the Windows 7 installation screen (boot setup):

    Notice the shadow of the top window: the portion reflected on the white background of the second background doesn't look right. This is just one example but as I said, bright colors in general do not look right.

    I tried updating my graphics drivers to the latest ones from Nvidia but the problem is still there.

    My graphics card is the Nvidia 9600M GT and I am currently on Windows Vista 64bit. If anyone can help with this problem I'd really appreciate it.

    I also checked in the device manager and under Monitor it says 'Generic PnP Monitor' is this right or not?
