I got my laptop a yr ago using such coupon, and now my friend is looking to buy a dv3t. I am curious if HP still once in a while throws such a deal out? Its been a longggg while since I saw that kind of coupon last time. I am waiting for such coupon to come out to order friend's new dv3t.

We had a stackable 300 and a 500 last week on the HDX16t. The big thing right now is 25% cash back from BING I think.

Labor day is coming, I suppose there will be a big coupon. The Windows 7 launch may also have some big coupons.

The Bing 25% cashback saves you more money than the HP 30% off though. You just have to wait 60 days for the cashback and DO NOT use any coupons.

Sorry if I'm missing something here, but how is 25% cash back better than 30% off?

The 30% one comes about once a month. Usually in the middle of the month. Do a google search for HP coupons.

Bing takes off 25% after the instant rebate. HP removes the rebate and then applies the coupon.

    $1500 - $250 rabate -25% = $937.50
    $1500 - 30% = $1050

This is my understanding. I've never used Bing, mind you.

Call hp, I got a $300 coupon from a rep on the phone. Just ask them and tell them that you are debating between an hp and another brand

Another scenario would be one in which the person didn't want to customize the laptop with higher-end components to meet the required minimum for the 30% off coupon (which was $1200 when I did three weeks, I believe).

In addition, if you don't want to use Bing, Fatwallet usually offers 3.0% off hp stuff, periodically they double that to 6.0% (that's again what I was able to do 2-3 weeks ago in getting a dv3t, it's stackable with hp coupons/rebates).

I used Bing, searched for HP, got a 25% cashback link, clicked it, entered capcha and added the notebook to cart after customizing, but it still shows $150 instant discount only. No indication of any cashback being applied. How do I make sure the 25% cashback is being used?

You won't see it on the HP site. The cashback will show up in your cashback account.

Is there any way I could confirm that the discount is being counted. i dont want to end up buying a notebook and then find out the cashback was not even applied to my bing cashback account.

As long as you don't use an HP coupon for your order, and you signed in properly with Bing, you should get your Bing cashback. An email will be sent stating how much you will get. In about 60 days, you should get your money.

Is there any confirmation if the 25% cashback will be applied on top of $150 instant discount or it will cancel the $150 instant discount?

The $150 instant discount will still apply. The 25% cashback will be based off of the subtotal after the instant discount.

Looks as if bing has ended the double-cashback program. When I go to bing now it only lists the regular cashback percentages. I thought they were going to continue til the end of August, but apparently not.

On around August 10 bing started doubling the cashback percentage (for a limited time). So HP's cash back went from 12% to 25% of the purchase, which was pretty incredible. Now it's back to 12%.
