    Yes, they do. And so will Toshiba, by the way. All the major manufacturers will have them.

    First of all disregard the "eventually' comment made above. Any delays will effect all mfg's.... and yes "upgrade" is "free". (you have to pay shipping though)

    Any purchase within the time period for upgrade will qualify.... You don't "have" to purchase thru HP.

    BTW: Best place to buy a HP is COSTCO, either in store, or via the web at www.COSTCO.com

    You can CTO a unit via the web, unit is shipped DIRECT from HP factory in CHINA... you getting it in 7-10 days.

    (CTO=Custom to Order)

    Costco =180 day return window
    HP = 21 day return window

    I would go with the toshiba, don't get an HP computer. Purchase it through Costco in case you get dead pixels or other weird stuff shows up. Do not go to places where it has to be defective to return, you should be allowed to work on a computer to see if you like it. Things like volume control (Toshiba do not get loud through the ear jack which could be a negative), keyboard, and whether OS disk are included (you might want to do a clean install). These are things you will never find out until you open it and work on it.

    You don't want to deal with HP service and wait on a computer for weeks. It might be your primary computer that you need. I don't know about the rest of you but a laptop is a major purchase and you will be dealing with for a long time.

    Be sure whichever notebook you buy has WinXP MCE or WinXP Pro and not WinXP Home. MCE upgrades to Vista Home Premium and Pro upgrades to Vista Business. Home upgrades to the lame stripped-down version.

    Obviously you should prefer HP over Toshiba :D.

    HP's turnaround time is currently about 10 days. No way Toshiba is any faster.
