My dv7t was supposed to be built by Nov 11th, but it just shipped out today :D

Do I need to sign for anything when it is delivered? It should be no big deal, just curious.

I'm pretty sure that on the site they say they will make 3 seperate attempts to deliver, then it'll go to the factory.

You'll most likely need to sign for it, but they don't bother identifiying signatures, hell they don't care who signs for it, you can just scribble something and they'll accept it.

Yep! They won't leave it unless you sign for it; typically, Fed-Ex will leave a doorhanger that you missed them and, if you sign the doorhanger, they will leave it the next day. It's up to you if you want them to leave your new baby on your front porch....

you can usually go to the carriers office after the delivery truck has returned and pick it up there.

Call FedEx and arrange for it to be held at FedEx office before you drive there, if you decide you need to pick it up at FedEx i/o having someone sign for it at delivery address.
Also, a ID is needed if item is picked up at FedEx.

Yes...they make 3 attempts. You can also call them to have them hold it at their distribution center.

I elected to stay home for mine...wouldn't want it outside in the environment being bounced around in a truck multiple times, my own paranoia
