I'm going to purchase a laptop very soon and I found one that looked great and had a good price tag. From my understanding of computers (which isn't that great), I was able to determine that it was a fairly good laptop. Can you please submit your opinions about this machine to me so I can confirm my purchase. All help is appreciated.

Sorry about that. Is it fixed now?
-
Well, if you are concern about battery life, the Celeron isnt good and as well as 6 cell battery. But other then that, it is a good average notebook for a non-gamer user.

Wait a minute, I spotted something. This notebook doesnt have ANY wireless card. Today's almost all notebook SHOULD have at least WIFI card.
Bad buy.

Thank you for repleying. Battery life isn't much of a problem for me seeing as I am keeping this thing on my desk for 95% of the time. What games is it capable of playing? I know it can't play games like World of Warcraft or that kind of stuff but can it still play those java games on the internet? And is it good enough to play videos and save them and stuff quickly?
Thanks -
What does a wireless card do? And how much does it cost? Sorry, I don't know much about this stuff.
-
Of course. Playing video or playing those internet games DOESNT even need a high performance graphic card.
Let me guess, is this your first computer ever own?
JC -
No, i'm typing on a computer right now. But when this computer was purchased I was only about 10. Right now i'm 12. I don't really know much about this. But, if you could, please explain further on the wireless card and what it enables me to do and how much it costs and why I would need it. -
It allows you to connect to a wireless network for internet access without wires.
-
Wireless or WIFI connects to the internet w/o any wires. Most today's notebooks should HAVE this internal feature.
BUT it is kinda hard to understand, so if you bought this notebook, I guess it is perfectly fine for you.

How would I go about accessing the internet without one? My computer is downstairs and my room is upstairs. I have a wireless router.
How much would a wireless card cost anyways? -
Nevermind, I miss this info "integrated wireless network adapter.". I was looking at the product details. So no need to buy a wireless card.

You can get one for the ExpressCard/54 slot on the notebook. -
Ahh, so did I.
Best Buy should really include that type of info under the specs...
-
Guys, you scared me, lol. Although, because of how scared I was when I read your posts I was in such relief and alot more happiness then I was in before. Thanks!
-
I'm glad NetBrakr was able to point that out about the wireless.
-
I like money.
-
Yes, money can be a good thing.
-
Yeah, I agreed, BestBuy needs to put wireless information on the Product Detail, instead that tiny little words at the begining, hehe.
Yeah, I like money also, but saving some money will be great as well.

What's with the random post that didn't have anything to do with the thread?
Anyway, it's an good buy for you IMO. I wouldn't buy it, I hate Celerons, they are only good for internet surfing, and I edit movies on my notebook with Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum, not a Celeron friendly program. -
Is a celeron good enough to surf the web, download videos and music, type word documents and play java games at a good non-laggy speed?
-
Yes, a Celeron is good enough to surf the web, and all the other stuff you want to use it for.
-
Yeah, you can do all that you want with the celeron. I have a MUCH older Celeron (DONT BE FOOL ABOUT GHZ) and it does that what you asked.
