I think they do. There was no option to change it when I bought mine, not that I wanted too.

I'm looking to buy a used NW8000, in case anyone wants to sell. -
I am no graphic artist, but I would say the screen is more than adequate. As far as blacks are concerned, to me they are indeed black. But this is subjective because my black may not be your black. Out of curiosity, what are you interested in paying for one?

Let me say that my NW8000 is pristine. Some specs are in my signature but in addition it has 1.5 GB RAM and a 8x dual layer dvd burner. The onsite warranty with accidental damage protection expired August 23rd, but can be extended for 1 year 199.99 plus tax. I paid 4400 dollars for it in 2004 and it is still awork horse today. The LCD and mother board were replaced earlier this month with new (NOT REFURBISHED) parts. During the initial repair the tech scratched the case with his screw drivers and etc. and HP replaced the casing as well. It appears to be a new laptop. I have for it two multibay II HDs (both 80 GB each), two AC adapters, a Multibay II 4x DVD burner, an external Multibay II, and a multibay floppy. I also have the original box and all documentation along with a plastics kit that contains all the small detachable components in the event they need replacing. I have an unopened 8 cell battery for the laptop as well. The existing battery is less than 6 months old. If you would like to see pics let me know and I will try to get some for you. The laptop is in immaculate condition though. Knowing this additional info how much higher could you be persuaded to go for the whole package. I I was going to let it all go on ebay (individually) but it would really simplify my life to let it go as a package. You can send me a private message if you are interested in discussing this further.
