I uninstalled all the HP software already though, but i was wondering if i needed it? I heard i should have kept HP Total Care Adviser. Not sure what it does, but people say you need this for updates for things like quickplay, if so, what can i do about this?
-
Manually download updates. You can find them on HP's website.
-
There are so many versions of the dv5, hope i'm in the right one. I think i did, anyway, how do i know if my drivers/software is up to date?
-
go to www.hp.com click on software and drivers. then type in you're model number. and compare the driver versions listed online to the ones in device manager.
-
Where can i find model number... also on the device manager can i just right click and choose update driver, will it find it? Is windows update different from the HP updates?
-
The US version of the HP Support site can automatically detect your model number if desired http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en...t&jumpid=in_R329_prodexp/hhoslp/split/support

You can also enter the P/N into the HP website. Look on the bottom of your notebook for a sticker.
