    Hey guys,

I have just made the worst mistake I think I have ever made. Some of you might have seen my previous post talking about my broken hinges in my DV6-7043TX. I decided to order hinges and put them in myself. The hell started when I took the laptop apart. HP uses double sided tape for EVERYTHING! To remove the bezel of the display you have to take off a sticker, I took it off only to realise I have no way of putting it back on as it was not sticky anymore... as much as I was annoyed, I continued to remove the bezel. I unscrewed all the screws and tried to pry off the bezel from the aluminium backing and then realised it was either glued or stuck down another way... so for some RANDOM reason I got a screwdriver and pried it off (Which didn't damage it). I got the corner up and pulled all the tabs out until the bezel was entirely off. I then went to install the hinges. Once I had done, I went to reassemble it but it wouldn't go back correctly! I was panicking and it turned out I had broken most of the plastic clips on the bezel. Anyway, I am still fuming (I am writing this about 5 mins after it happened). I decided to see how much the bezel and sticker cost in Australia (My place of residence) and its $130 for both of them!!! I have dismantled MANY HP DV6's in my life and none of them have been this bad!

    Thanks :)
