I spent literally 30 minutes on the phone today, talking with 5 reps from HP, and no one could tell me what the specs are on the LCD panel being used on the new notebook nc8400, with its "wide viewing angles."

Does anyone know if in general they use higher-quality LCDs on the business line or no?

    Thank you.

Hm, very doubtful. NX6xxx reports the most screen problems here.
In any case, almost all of the business models come with matte, 4:3 screens.

ThinkPads FlexView screen does offer wide viewing angles with a matte screen. It is on the 15" T series SXGA+ and UXGA+ screens. They used to offer it on the R series as well, but I think I saw they were phasing it out on the R series. You might to check it out.

they at the very least use different lcds for their consumer and business line. i don't know if one would be better than the other.
