Greetings - I've been looking at the Mini 311 on Amazon, which is selling for $399. I'm going to send my (slow!) dv2 to my daughter for a spare laptop as soon as the Windows 7 upgrade arrives (which won't be real soon from what I'm reading!!) Amazon says their Mini 311 has the Ion LE graphics. On the HP website though, they are selling the same system for the same price - but it doesn't have the "LE" qualifier listed. Do the newer direct-from-HP editions have the "full" Ion - or is this just an oversight by HP on their website? TIA

Its Ion LE.

just fyi your dv2 is faster than the mini 311. But the windows 7 mini has ion and the xp version has ion le.

Thanks to each of you for your rapid responses!! I was initially excited when I received my dv2, then disappointed with Vista 64, then happy again for a while after I installed XP Pro. But, among other things, I cannot change the display brightness in XP (I have it set up to dual-boot XP and Vista) and thus the battery life sucks. I could probably deal with the battery life if it wasn't so awful slow on simple multi-tasking. Whenever the McAfee update is running, everything else slows to a crawl in both XP and Vista. I've had two Atom systems - Eee PC 1000H and Toshiba NB205, they were pretty snappy with XP. pasta4u - I'm surprised to hear that the 311 sounds like a disappointment...

The new Mini 311's with 7 have full Ion. You have an option also to get XP on their website, and I think that one also comes with full Ion.

Thanks again for your input - I just ordered my 311 with Win 7 this morning. Only options were Atom 280 and Win 7 - I will order a 2-Gb ram chip from NewEgg. I have to respectfully disagree with statements about the dv2 running as well or better than an Atom. I have owned two Atom 270/280 systems (Eee PC and Toshiba NB205) - they ran very well and were snappy. I have had my dv2 (single-core Neo) for almost two months - and there is nothing snappy about it. XP Pro runs OK - but no ability to change screen brightness. Vista32 and 64 are a joke on the dv2 - EVERYTHING runs at a snails pace. I spend as much time waiting for apps to open as I do actually using the system. Hopefully the Mini 311 will run better.
Do the new Mini 311's have Ion or Ion LE?
