I was wondering if you make a recovery disc with the Dv6000 Vista pre installed do you have to activate after you use the recovery disc?

I think it would depend on the recovery type. If it was a format and install then I would gather that you do but a normal sort of repair install you probably dont.

What i was thinking was, because i have a current DV6000. I was also planning to get one with vista pre installed, instead of waiting for the vista upgrade cd to come, i was wondering if i made a recovery disc of the new one and use it on my old one so i could have a flat out full install instead of an upgrade.

You can only use one Vista install on one machine. By using those recovery discs on two machines, you violate the EULA.

Yes a review of the OEM version of Vista showed that you can use it on another PC but only if you contact microsoft and tell them/show them that you are nto using it in any other PC anymore.

That doesn't make any sence. If that is the case I can buy 1 copy and call them then add it to my friends machine.
