Docking Tb3 for spectre X360 15.6 kabylake 2017

I have been researching a bit for a docking to work with the new spectre X360 15.6 inches. Bu so far no luck in terms of charging the device...

Does somebody know which docking will actually be able to charge the laptop through thunderbolt 3?

I'm looking for the same thing, either TB3 or USB-C that can support an external monitor or two and charging. I am considering just buying a couple and seeing if I can get any of them working. I read previous (old) threads about the HP Charging DRM but not sure if that is gone for the 2017 15" models or still present.

 

Yeah I read the same... But I live in Chile so not easy for me to get the docking and then to return it... Although I travel a lot to US... So if you can keep me posted I will be grateful, so I can get from Amazon the right one.

Overall it's working well and I haven't had any stability or intermittent issues. Charging appears to work fine - a message about using an HP official charger pops up when connecting the dock but once that is dismissed it charges fine, It keeps the PC fully charged while using it and I tested charging from around 85% and from around 35% or so while using the laptop display and both times it charged back to full with no issues. Output from the display port on the dock to my HP 30" (2560x1600) works fine, so far I haven't been able to get the HDMI out to work but I've only tried driving a monitor using an HDMI-DVI Converter so I need to mess with that some more using a direct HDMI connection and see if that works.

I am able to drive one monitor via the dock, one via the onboard HDMI on the HP laptop itself, and have the laptop display running at the same time. If I can get the onboard HDMI to work and allow me to drive two monitors via the dock connections it'll be a 5 star product for me - as it sits though it's going to meet my needs well enough. I'll report back if I get the HDMI issue figured out or if I run into any other problems, so far so good though.

 

Quick Update:

Today the Dock died on me - heard a pop and no more power to the dock. Guessing it's power output capability was the issue. Of course it happened 7 days after my return period at amazon, so I'm at the mercy of CalDigit now. We'll see what they say.

 

I bought a Tb3 150W for the HP Zbook... Soon I will be able to see if it work...
