    Docking station + secondary monitor problem

    Hello,

    Up until recently I've had no problems. But I recently undocked my laptop from the docking station and then my primary monitor switched. I would like the laptop monitor to be the primary at all times.

    When I have the laptop undocked, everything is normal. However, when I plug it into the docking station, the monitors switch and then the monitor attached to the docking station becomes the primary. I cannot seem to change this in the Windows display settings -- "Use this monitor as the primary monitor" is always greyed out (although it may have a checkmark that I can't clear).

    Is there any way to force my laptop to always be the primary monitor?

    Please help!

    NC8430 X1600 with XPPro
    I have the basic docking station

    it was working fine up until recently when I undocked it
