You mean a boot to a media-playing OS, or an actual quick boot that skips some POST steps?

I think the default for most/all BIOS is to quickboot unless there was a problem the last time the PC was booted.

To skip memory checking and etc.
Do you know how to get into there from BIOS?
F10 for HP to get into BIOS, but can't find it

I haven't seen my dv9500 do any sort of memory checking at startup. It usually shows the HP splash screen, but it goes fast enough that I'm sure it's not doing a memory check. I never set up anything in the BIOS for that. Is your system spending a lot of time before the Microsoft screens come up?

Microsoft screen as in the green bar passing? It's not that slow, but I remember it used to be faster, so I'm guessing I did something by accident and I just wanted to see if I had quick boot enabled or memory check disabled. ah well, its probably fine

The default should be quickboot as memory checking is only turned on in diagnostic mode.
