Since the dv6t comes with a fingerprint reader, I was wondering if HP includes any sort of password management software? I've been looking at some online, and figured that if the laptop already has a fingerprint scanner, that'd be a great way to secure a database of account login information.

Or, even if it doesn't have any fancy programs, does it allow you to use the fingerprint scanner to restrict access to a specific file or folder? If nothing else, I could create a text document with passwords and then lock it.

If you are using HP Simplepass 2011. I assuming you are.

There is a $20 addon that allows you to protect password protect files with your fingerprint.

Also, there is a $4 / month addon to use the online password manager/backup/restore.

They should be located somewhere in your simplepass gui.

Still waiting for my computer to be built. I'll check it out and see what all it offers when I get it. Thanks!

I personally find the SimplePass software to be pretty poor. I only use it to login to my account. I could not find any other alternates either.
