I read somewhere on the forum that HP will offer a 50 then a 150 gift card to stop people from returning computers, is this true or just kind of a myth?

Yeah, I heard this and was tempted to do it myself, until my ethics got the better of me.

I wouldn't have a problem with it if the Envy 14 only meets the published battery expectations with the slice that a 150 gift card would buy.

Do you know if they actually do it for sure though? I heard it is cheaper to config the slice onto the computer then it is to buy it seperate.

All the time. If you place an order then call to cancel they will usually offer you money back to not cancel it and if you call to set up a return they will usually do the same thing.

    I ordered a dv6tSE config at 1049.99 and they offered a CREDIT first for $50 then $75.

Nevertheless, I did not accept either.

If you get credit back, it may be considered a modification of your order and thus void your Bing cashback.

Hmm if BCB stays at 10% then I can use my 10% student discount to the same effect, if its 25% sounds like a better deal than the 50/75 back anyway.
