In one of my other posts in a thread, someone replied that Intel Matrix manager can cause lot of trouble and not necessary if not using RAID. But I read on Intel website, and also a friend told me that it can help with the HDD performance and battery life. Also, I see that there is an updated version available on intel website while the one on HP is still old one. So I cant decide if its needed or not. Please share your experiences.

I am also interested in this ever since I discovered it's not easy to make a flash drive RAID setup in Vista

Well if you are using your SATA devices in AHCI instead of IDE mode.. then yeah it would probably serve a purpose. ;)

The newer version is because of Intel's newer chipsets (ex: P45).

Yeah I can't seem to enable caching in Vista, but I also have Robson. Is this normal?

your hdd will benefit from intel matrix storage manager if it supports NCQ. But if not and you only use a single hdd better not install it.
