Has anyone purchased an HP laptop with Fences Pro pre-installed and selected the "Minimized Image Recovery" from the system recovery menu?

I'm specifically interested in the HP Pavilion dm1z. I have one on order. I want to immediately format the laptop with the Minimized Image Recovery, but I am interested in using Fences. Does anyone know if Fences is still included as it's not trial software, it's the Pro version?

I've searched the 'net high and low and haven't found an answer.

    Thanks.

I dont see any 'Minimized Image Recovery' in the recovery manager. Maybe that option was removed from the version that HP is shipping with the dm1. Uninstalled fences the day I go t the dm1 but I think it was the pro version (seemed to have the capablity of grouping icons than what stardock stays is available with free version).

That's odd. I've seen multiple reviews and users mention the Minimized Image Recovery option for the dm1z.

Remember that there are 2 different generations of the dm1z. The older one based on the previous AMD platform & the newer fusion based one. According to HP (link) the option should be located in the recovery manager & there is no such option in the recovery manager that ships with the new dm1z.

I believe you need to select "System Recovery" on the bottom left to see the option I'm referring to.

Once the computer boots into recovery mode you should see the option. You can either get there from selecting "OK" to continue, or by pressing the hotkey during system boot. I believe F2 is the key for the dm1z.

Yes, I see that option. If SSD prices go down a bit lower I can actually try that option. :D
