The title says it all. It seems like no one else owns this laptop. I know it's 6 years old but someone else has to have this laptop.

    Just curious.

    I'm guessing not, so far.

A friend of mine had one of those. One day the speaker grill above the keyboard popped up by itself and it was like "Whups... Must have copied too much stuff onto the PC".

Wow? Most of these are long, long gone. HP used a lot of model designations for these really heavy, really hot running Pentium 4 notebooks. As I recollect, they all weighed about 8 pounds and could be used to heat a small apartment....in Antarctica. I'm guessing that most suffered catastrophic hardware failures due to the heat and were discarded shortly after the warranty expired.

I'm amazed that there's a single out left out there. How exactly did yours manage to survive the heat issues?

I honestly couldn't tell you. I always kept the vents clean and always kept the computer on a flat hard surface. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
I've had a few minor problems here and there, but for the most part, it didn't cost too much to fix.
I will forever be an HP fan.

I have a zx5000 that we use for basic surfing and media streaming from time to time. It died after 4 years of use and some outfit in California repaired the motherboard and has been slow but fine since.
