Does anyone have the dv5-1157 or dv5-1174? Is your screen flush with the bezel?

Does anyone own the dv5-1157 or dv5-1174?

If so, is the screen flush with the bezel? I ask because I thought all of the dv5-11 series models had screens like this but when I was looking at the dv5-1157 today at Staples I was surprised to find that the screen was not flush with the frame/bezel. The HP website says that it is supposed to be, though... so I'm not sure if I'm misreading the site and certain models don't have screens like this, or if the model at Staples was mislabeled or something. If anyone has either of these models (these were the two I was considering), could you let me know about the screen?

    Thanks in advance!

The flush sitting screen is optional. Models which ship with the Infinity branded display has a layer of glass on top of the LCD which gives the flush fitting impression, otherwise systems which have the standard brightview screens have the plastic border surrounding the LCD.

No it is not mislabeled. The Dv5 comes with 4 different screen options

The pre-built models at Staples didnt come with the infinity screens. You will need to do a custom order from the HP website.

Thanks for clearing that up! I didn't realize the flush fitting screen was optional.

I'm looking at HP Canada's website now and it doesn't look like I can purchase the dv5-1157 directly from HP. Does anyone know of any Canadian retailers other than Staples that carry this model with the Infinity screen option? I've checked Best Buy and Future Shop and neither of them carry the 1157. FS does carry the 1174 but I'm not sure if it has the flush screen or not, and I think I might prefer the 1157 anyway.

    Thanks in advance. :)

I'm looking at this model lineup on the HP website. Doesn't it seem to indicate that ALL dv5-1157/74s come with the Infinity display?

(Sorry for the lack of a clickable link; My post count isn't high enough for me to post one yet.)
