I have a dv8000t, and like so many other dv8000 owners, I have been experiencing the "keyboard problems." In my case, the problems are rather random and do not last for an extensive amount of time, but in any case, they are noticeable. So my question is: can any of you honestly say you have experienced absolutely no keyboard problems with your dv8000? I only think it's fair that we have a thread dedicated to the positive as well, because we already have one for the negative. It will be useful information for people who are interested in the dv8000. Thanks.

I have a dv8000t, and while I do have keyboard problems, they are really minor and random. Occasionally when I type, a letter won't register. Because my problems are so minor, its hard to tell whether my keyboard is actually messed up, or whether in some cases I simply didn't press the key hard enough for it to register. In any case, there aren't any problems when I use an external keyboard.
As far as a thread being dedicated to the positives of the dv8000, I have to say, its a great deal for the components you get -- mine was configured with a T2400 and 2 hard drives and 1 gb of memory from costco for only ~$1300, $1400 after tax, with free shipping, BEFORE the $50 mail in rebate. That's a 17' widescreen with a core duo, dedicated graphics and 2x80 = 160 gb of storage for 1300!
In fact, the cheapest DV8000t you can get away with will cost only around 1100 for a core duo and dedicated graphics. You can always add more ram and bigger harddrives yourself. Even with the keyboard problems I think it's a good deal for the money. I use mine as a desktop replacement so I just plug in a $10 usb keyboard and I have no more problems whatsoever. -
I've had mine two months. No problems yet.

Does anyone here actually own a dv8000 and NOT have keyboard problems?
