I'm looking at an xb2000 base without adapter, keyboard or mouse on eBay. I have a keyboard and mouse, so that's not needed anyway, but do I need the adapter for the base? The seller was singularly unhelpful when I asked him.
Would appreciate several assurances before I lay down my hard earned $$$.
Thanks!

According to hp's web site the dv5000 should be fine without the adapter...

* With the included Expansion Base adapter
**Only models with Expansion Port 2 (productivity port) -
Thanks for the info. Actually had seen that on HPs site, but was hoping to get confirmation from someone in the "real world". I've had it happen before that the mfr site says one thing but in the real world it happens to be not so.
If anyone can let me know for sure who has both the dv5000 and the xb2000, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks! -
The DV5000 series notebooks does require the adapter for the expansion port plug

office max sold those xb3000 for $149 new a while back

I have the zx5000, and just purchased the xb2000 expansion base from HP. I DO need the expansion base adapter & although listed on the box was not included. HP's parts store says it's on backorder until 2008!!!
Needless to say I'm losing my mind - I was hoping to use the base as a work around because the AC plug on the unit failed.
SO! If anyone knows where I can locate one - PLEASE let me know.
Does dv5000 using xb2000 base need adapter?
