No it doesn't. None of the Compaq's do, only the HP DV4000 and DV1000s have it.

Right - HP dv1000/4000 are better multimedia notebooks. They have more media buttons and the QuickPlay feature as previously mentioned.

I know it's very tough to say, but what are the chances I will have problems with the Compaq V4000t? Like any hardware related problems, put it at around 10%? Like within the first couple years..

Also if I don't buy the warranty, and I have some problems I could get my laptop fixed at HP just that it would cost a good amount right?

22% of HP/Compaqs have to be sent in during the first year for repairs. That's what the latest survey says, conducted by PCMag: here.

Is 22% considered pretty high or low compared to others?

Follow the link for a chart, but the short answer is, it's at the high end.

I'm not sure how those numbers shake out for these laptops. though, since the numbers probably include some of the bugs that HP has basically shaken out since the merger.

22% isn't the highest, but it's not the lowest. It's above the median. (Of course, I don't know their statistical analysis, so I can't say what the margin of error is...)

Well, when I tell me friends i am going to get V4000t, they say no way, go and get a toshiba. True, most of my friends have toshiba (satellite) without a single problem. If I bough this laptop, I really plan to keep this laptop for another 3 years due to its has a powerful X700. I bought my n610c 3 years ago with ATI 7500M which its a top model back in that day. I still can play some simple 3D game with this laptop nowaday.
