The reason I ask is because I ordered an envy 14 beats edition (i5 580m, 4gb ram, 500gb 7200rpm) last Wednesday, the 15th and currently it is still in production, but my sister ordered the regular envy with the same specs the day after and hers shipped yesterday. I would love to have it by Christmas, but as it seems, hers will be and mine won't. (Not fair. Haha)

the refresh is coming on Jan 8........why not just wait a bit -

Well I figure that when I get it, if the refresh is way better, it is still within my 21 day window.

I agree that the new processor doesn't interest me too much since it will only be slightly faster, and I don't play games so I don't care too much about the graphics upgrade. It also only uses less power if you go with an i7, and I'll be okay with the i5
But the thing is that if HP decides to have a refresh on the Envy line it doesn't make sense for them to only update the processor, they might as well update a few other things too. Maybe add USB 3.0..fix the backlight issue..change the build quality..things like that are what im interested in, but only if it comes out before the end of January -
So what's the answer to the original question - does it take longer to be built? I ordered mine on Tuesday and keep refreshing the status.

Plus, the $300 coupon is kinda fake, since you can get a envy 14 beat version 14-1163SE for around 1120. if you CTO similar config, it will end up 1389 in HP.com
Does the Envy beats edition take longer to be built than the regular envy?
