    Does the dv4000 come w/ recovery discs?

    I've read several reviews on the dv4000 and decided it what I wanted, but the reviews failed to mention if HP sent recovery discs w/ it, if it was on the hdd, or if it didn't come w/ any sort of windows recovery. Any dv4000 owner please reply.

    AFAIK all HP/Compaq laptops have a clean Win XP disc & another recovery disc containing the drivers & software. There are no hidden partitions.

    My old Presario came with a XP disc, and apps and driver disc.

    Thanks, I didn't want to get stuck having to buy XP again if for some reason my computer crashed, and the drivers are helpful too. It's hard to find the exact drivers you need for your computer if it crashed and there's no way to restore them.

    I just got a dv4000 and it came with 2 discs for sw reinstallation and repair; an operating system cd (windows xp) and an application and drivery recovery dvd.
