I've heard the dv6tqe gets ridiculously hot in its bottom left region, and was just wondering if the dv6tse runs cooler, seeing as it's only a dual core and all?

Thinking of picking one up at the end of the week, hopefully coupon holds up.

And on another note, how is the 1920x1080 Anti-glare screen? How are the colors? I'd prefer a glossy screen for bright/vibrant colors, but HP doesn't offer it..

the heat depends on what youre doing. Website browsing, word processing etc, shouldnt cause a problem at all, as long as you have hp coolsense set to coolest. With this the bottom right is just normal, and the bottom left is still cold metal.

With games, the bottom left might heat up a bit, but just make sure its on a desk. It should be fine. The heat really isnt an issue at all. This is my opinion from my i5 2410.

If glossy is a real piority to you, then go for the standard 720p screen. The only things youre giving up on is the bigger space, and better viewing angles and probably better quality. Obviously if these things are important then just go with the matte.
But just know that the 720p glossy screen isnt a bad screen at all IMO, in fact its probably above average. It has been perfect for everything ive been doing, from word processing, game playing, and watching movies. Also I like the size of the text, less eye strain and squinting.

    I have the i5 2410.
It runs cool at all times other than games. It does get warm in games, but I played BFBC2 for like 1.5 hours and the left side got warm, but not in an uncomfortable manner.
The screen is surprisingly good for a matte screen. Sharp and clear, the colors are nice as well (has a bluish tint out of the box, but I fixed this easily with a slight red color adjustment in the intel graphics settings. I highly recommend the 1080p screen.

Mine feels relatively cool from the outside, but under load the internals get crazy hot (90c+). Other perople haven't been experiencing this so I guess my notebook is the exception.

Do the colors look dull since it is a matte screen? First non-glossy screen I will own if i pull the trigger.

Nope, colors look great. Not dull at all.
