Does the power cable light go off for other people's DV6500?

On my DV6514, the little lightning bolt on the bottom which symbolises the cable connected to the system, turns on when you plub in the cord, but after some time it 'turns off' and it's just the power light that's on (unless the hard drive is doing work). Does this happen to other people? I'm still connected, and the icon in the bottom bar still has that it's connected and that it's fully charged?

Also now that i'm mentioning power cables; it's safe to keep the laptop plugged in like so even if the battery is charged?

When the battery reaches the fully charged state the lightning bolt LED goes off. At least that's what my new dv6663ca does and I think it's normal (and makes sense).

Actually you're right, it does do that. It's charging now and the lightning bolt light is on, thanks!
