Hi Guys:
Newbie here. I just received my new dv2500t laptop from Hp.com a couple of days ago. I was quite surprised it didn't come with any CD...I couldn't find a list on what the full package supposed to come with so just wondering if this is a mistake or not....My last notebook was Asus W3A...let's just say it comes with a lot of hardware and a lot less bloatwares
Thanks!

No, mine didn't come with a CD, only a picture of one telling me how to restore the OS and make a back-up. Didn't even come with a cleaning cloth to remove fingerprints.
I like it though; how about you? -
I opted for the recovery CD and it came with that and the Vista upgrade CD.

vista anytime upgrade cd included with my sisters.

no it doesnt come with a CD/DVD (if you bought recently)
what you will have to do ASAP is get 2 or 3 blank DVDs (or 1 DL DVD) and backup your recovery partition.
go to start>programs>recovery manager>create disk or something.
you can only do this ONCE, so make sure you dont lose it and also label your disks.
WARNING:
this takes such a long time -
actually when you order on hp.com, there is an option for restoration cd's, but it costs $20. you probably didn't notice it. you can just use 2-3 dvd's and do the backup yourself (free!).
