Does your dv2700t power jack wiggle/have a degree of play in it?

    Hey NBR.

I'm a recent dv2700t owner. I'm enjoying the notebook for the most part. I'm wondering if other owners have seen wiggle/a degree of play in their power jack connection? There's not a tremendous amount of wiggle, but it moves around a bit when I a gently rock it back and forth. In other words, it's not a tight connection, although the jack seems to be doing the job.

I know this may sound picky, but I just want to make sure I don't have a lemon. The actual functionality of the power jack doesn't seem to be affected -- it charges just fine with a ring of blue light around it. However, I'm a bit unsettled that the jack displays any movement and is not seated tightly.

Is this how these jacks are just designed? I'd like to hear from other dv2700t owners (or others with the same power port configuration) to see if their power jacks seat tightly (i.e., no movement when wiggled), or whether my system is an oddball.

    Thanks for any info.

They're supposed to be in there pretty tightly. I had a DV6000 and it fit pretty snug in there.

I just ordered my DV2700tse and should come in next week so i'd be happy answer when I get it.

I'm pretty sure others here have DV2700 so i'm sure they'll get to you before I do.

But think on the bright side, if you trip over it, it'll latch off real quick, aha`

well, i have a 2500t which has the same jack. My jack also has some play to it, but functionality isn't affected. I think there's supposed to be a slight play to the jack so there's less stress exerted if its jerked around a little.

Mine moves around, my previous also.. I was always under the assumption the jack wasn't soldered directly to the motherboard and is instead wired to it to reduce the chance of breaking and loosening from the board. Still seems to happen so I guess not.

I believe its not actually because of the jack itself but the frame the jack sits on.

Ill have a looky-loo next time i open up my notebook.

Mine was wiggly. More play than I was accustomed to in past notebooks.
