    hey i have dv6599ea... i hear no noise, infact the only time i even hear the fan is when the computer is on high performance mode other wise its pretty quiet.... hope that helps

    Research the threads on the processor noise and then compare the common processors listed in the threads to the one in this PC. That might help give you a clue. I believe the problem mainly occurs on laptops with certain Intel processors.

    They all do as these days most mainstream notebooks are based on Intel's Core microarchitecture. It's whether your hearing is sensitive enough to pick up the noise, and whether it irritates you.

    I believe that once you hear it, you can't unhear it. So if you have a laptop based on an Intel Core Duo or Core 2 Duo processor and think your CPU doesn't emit a noise - don't go looking for it. Just enjoy your noisefree system. Ignorance truly is bliss in this case.
