    Hi everybody,

I've got an envy 14 and I flashed my BIOS for the F 23. From this installation, my fan is very noisy. Before flashed my BIOS, the version was the F06. I would like to downgrade my BIOS from F23 to F06.
Is it possible ? Will it be problematic if i'm doing that ?

Yes it is possible and it likely wouldn't cause any problems, most manufacturers actually don't recommend upgrading unless you are having a problem and if you have a problem after the upgrade- they recommend downgrading.

It is possible that they upped the fan speed because units were overheating, but I don't think we'll every know for sure. So, no use worrying; I would hope that if there were a real problem, the manufacturer would step up and recall units.

    Thank you for your answer.
Now i've a problem : I'm not able to find the bios F.06 . I searched and didn't find it.
Do you know where I can find it ? And I was wondering ,the update of the bios is made by a software which is going to dowload the most recent bios and install it on my computer no ? So how will I be able to downgrade my bios ?
    Thanks

For each driver in the list, there is a link next to each item that says "Previous versions available" (you must expand the list item). Clicking that link will enable you to find the BIOS you're looking for. See the below link:

Thank you it worked. Unfortunately I didn't find my fan like it was ... still noisy.

Is it spinning faster or is it actually noisy?

Because a noisy fan that isn't spinning faster would indicate fan failure...

How can I know if my fan is spinning fast or not ? Is there software or somewhere where I can check it ?
I can hear exactly if it's spinning fast because on top of the noise of fan, there is the sound of the shrill sound from the CPU , I think.

Remember BIOS updates reset all your settings, which includes putting the "Fan always on" option to Enabled.

This is probably the reason for your increased fan noise.

Syrion, i just downgraded my bios from F23 to F06 and the fan is not making any noises. I would recommend that you go on the bios and set the fans to always ON, because when i downgraded, the default value was OFF.
