Everything is in my sig.... Anyway, this is my second attempt at this and so far everything is good. Basic stuff ie. audio, video, and wireless drivers are installed. But still missing more... here's what i'm missing. Oh and i can't seem to find a proper nvidia nforce driver to work with my laptop. I got the one from nvidia's site but i still don't see my network card in devices aside from my broadcom wireless one.

have you tried the laptopvideo2go.com drivers? they have drivers especially for xp 32/64bit for pretty much all nvidia cards
You might be able to get the rest from the HP website under the Support section > XP drivers not vista -
tried looking under my laptops model under xp and no luck on the rest of the drivers. As for video drivers i've already got that covered and working nicely under xp
The rest are still a mystery

update i found an nvidia nforce driver that solved 2 of the drivers. I'm down to these left... I'm looking for that conexant modem driver and that unknown device, when i click properties -> details i get "ACPI\HPQ006\2&DABA3FF&0" Any clue on these last 2?

Have you tried the HP update down the bottom? That program searches for new drivers and software for your devices. -
hp update was useless because i performed a clean install of xp
UPDATE:unknown device [turned out to be hp quicklaunch buttons] Still in search of the conexant modem drivers
Update yet again... : the conexant modem driver i gave the vista driver a shot before i was gonna log off... and.... dun dun dunnnn they work! I finally have a complete set of drivers for xp now
Thanks flipfire for your help -
Congratulations! Enjoy XP on those machines. It blows vista out the water in terms of speed and performance.

Can you tell us how much more battery life you get under XP?
-
I'll test the battery life, mind you i have the extended battery on my notebook. But also it doesn't have those performance modes like vista did where you go half cpu power when disconnected from AC power. I'm using a 3rd party program to control that and its called "Notebook Hardware Control" I'll report back when i get results.
