My new HP notebook came installed with vista home premium and to be frank.... I really don't care for it. I want XP back. I've downloaded like sooo many drivers from the HP site for my notebook and also some from the other notebooks in the DV6000 models. But my question is... what will I need to download to get my remote to work? I've searched everywhere (including here) and I can't find anything. And my notebook came with a 5 in 1 memory card reader, and has a DVDRW optical drive with Dual Layer support and Lightscribe but after I install XP will my system recognize these and allow me to use them entirely. Because I don't want to sacrife my Remote, 5 in 1 memory card reader or DVDRW/with lightscribe functions. Any tips? I tried looking all over the site before posting these questions but I just couldn't find anything pointing to these specific things I'm looking for before I downgrade my OS.

Maybe you believe that we're all telepathic and mindreaders...

How can anyone help you without specs posted?

all dv6000 models have winXP drivers on HP's page. If you have the Intel version, you need to look at the guide how to load the SATA drivers before installation. If you have the AMD version, all you need is find an XP bootable disk.
