Hey guys I am about to pull my hair out from the issue I am experiencing with the drivers on my HP Envy 15t-3200 CTO Model A6U31AV. The laptop has an intel i7 37610qm proc 2.30ghz and intel Centrino Ultimate N-6300 network card. My bluetooth was working fine up until the other day when it suddenly stopped working and I am no longer able to access my bluetooth software in the system tray/control panel add device when in discovery mode.
I installed the Intel PROSet Bluetooth Driver
Intel PROSet Bluetooth Driver HP ENVY 15t-3200 CTO Notebook PC | HP® Support
and it brought the icon back to my system tray and the bluetooth worked fine. After a reboot the icon was gone and I am no longer able to access any bluetooth function.
I then removed from the network drivers from the device manager and re-installed Intel Centrino Wireless Bluetooth + High-Speed Adapter
located in the envy drivers thread in this forum and this did not fix my problem.
I have since attempted to remove the above installed software and start fresh but I am still not able to get the bluetooth functioning.
I also have an unkown device listed in the device manager. If i turn off the wifi using f12 the unknown device disappears from the device manager. When I press f12 again to turn on the wifi the unknown device reappears.
Location: Port_#0003.Hub_#0003
Msinfo32 displays the problem device as
USB\VID_0000&PID_0000\6&17A0AF6C&0&3
Any assistance for the above problems would be greatly appreciated. :hi2:

I removed all drivers and restarted and I was prompted by this in the device manager. It seems to be wanting a broadcom driver. However I did not think this was needed since I have the Intel Centrino wireless + bluetooth?

anyone able to help?
-
Why don't you just try the Broadcom driver and see if it works?
Also please do not crosspost your message to multiple threads. -
Yes I have tried to install the broadcom drivers and it corrects the issue with the missing driver and it brings back the bluetooth icon in the task bar and I am able to "Add a Device" however it will not find my mouse or phone.
-
Hmm, are you sure you are entering pairing mode on the devices properly?
-
Same way that I used to... Could you tell me what you have under bluetooth radios and network adapters? I am not sure if need both the broadcom drivers along with the intel centrino wireless + bluetooth. Something else is screwing me up because I have tried all possible driver combinations. I am able to see the laptop from my phone and I am prompted to enter a code on the laptop but it never shows up. I am also not able to see any devices if I go to send/receive
-
Yes, I can look that up for you tonight when I get home from work, assuming someone else doesn't post it sooner.

Under Bluetooth I have:
Broadcom 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter
Device Identification Service
Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator
Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator
Service Discovery Service
Under Network Adapters I have:
Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)
Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)
Intel(R) Centrino(R) Ultimate-N 6300 AGN
Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter
Qualcomm Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30) -
Thanks a ton that was very helpful!

Still unable to find any bluetooth devices. I have a HID mouse listed in my devices however I am not able to use my bluetooth mouse. I am also not able to right click and remove this device. If I uninstall the driver for it, it automatically comes back in my system devices. Sometimes the bluetooth icon will not appear in the task bar. I have checked that the blue services are set to start automatically and are started under services.
EDIT:
FINALLY SOLVED THE PROBLEM! I removed the broadcom drivers found in the envy drivers thread and installed the automatic driver installer on broadcom website. The install did not complete but it did install the missing drivers and now my bluetooth functions correctly. You have to install the intel wireless centrino drivers along with broadcom drivers. -
ugh my problem is back! The bluetooth function is no longer appearing in my task bar when I turn on the computer and no drivers are listed in the device manager??
-
I think the problem is the drivers for my intel network centrino drivers. If I uninstall them the broadcom driver comes up missing and I am able to reinstall them along with the centrino software. I do not understand why it would work for awhile and then no longer show up in task bar or function properly

any help folks?

issue still not resolved. any advice?

envy 17 3000 here...
The windows one is much more stable though. The Broadcom disconnects when it wants and turning bluetooth back on is next to impossible. When on Broadcom drivers, windows gives errors turning off or on bluetooth in wireless settings and in device manager.
Windows driver is usable with less diconnects. -
As stated earlier in this thread, I was able to get the bluetooth working after installing the broadcom drivers but then after a few days the bluetooth just stopped working. I now receive an unkoown device detected everytime i switch the wireless on/off using f12.
I installed the windows mobile device manager which should have installed the windows 7 bluetooth drivers.
When I go to the device manager, the unknown device is listed under Universal Serial Bus Controllers and I am not able to update it using the automatic search or by browsing files on the computer to point to the Microsoft Corporation drivers for bluetooth. When I uncheck show compatible hardware it brings up a list of drivers but I am only to select "Microsoft" which has no bluetooth drivers. "Microsoft Corporation" is not on the list of vendors for drivers to install.
I have uninstalled all of the intel and broadcom software and started with fresh intel wireless drivers.
The uninstall method I used was with the program Your uninstaller which also removes regisrty entires. I also made sure my program files had no folders from Broadcom/Widdcom and I deleted the bluetooth folder contained in the intel folder.
I then went to install the broadcom software that automaticall detects the bluetooth adapter and it will install 4 bluetooth drivers and then get to a point where it says that the bluetooth device was not detected and to switch it on. I waited for awhile and it still did not detect so I pressed f12 to turn off the wireless then I turned it on. I received the unkown device detected notification and after a few more moments the broadcom software still at the same point disappeared.
I have checked to ensure that bluetooth support services are running under services.msc. they are running automatic and the log on tab indicates they are for the local system account. They are also running when I open the services portion of task manager.
I still do not understand what my problem is unless I have faulty hardware. I have removed all network software including atheros ethernet and started fresh using the software on the HP drivers page directed for this pc.
I really appreciate everyones input in this thread. At this point I would have done a fresh install of Windows however I have software installed for a professional review course that is licensed for only one install so I do not want to reformat until I am done with the course to avoid any complications.
I have attached a screenshot showing what is listed in my device manager after installing the intel proset software. I have checked "show hidden devices". I have also attached a word doc with a hardware report
Please let me know if there is any additional information or screenshots I can provide to make troubleshooting more efficient.Attached Files:

anyone know a solution?
-
I don't have a solution, but my Envy 17 3d 3000 just came back from the hp depot. They replced my screen to fix a kb backlight malfunctioning issue ( the fix worked ). But now my bluetooth is gone, and I see the same thing in device manager you do. When I open the 'unknown device's properties, windows says it has been disabled by windows, because the device has reported a problem. (Code 43). According to the service guide, the bluetooth module is in the lid, in models that include it- not all do. I believe that they may have either swapped my display for one without the bluetooth module, or neglected toconnect something during the repair.

Took the unit apart and everything is plugged in. Has to be a something going on windows. No options for bluetooth in bios but then again there really isnt an option for anything in the bios that allow the user to change.
-
The same exact thing happened to me but with my Envy 15 3200. Did you end up getting this resolved? -
I have still not found a solution to this issue. Only option I have not tried is a fresh install of windows.
