I reinstalled XP on my laptop and I need to resinstall drivers. On the Compaq page for my product (V2000) under network it lists these two:
» Intel PRO/Wireless Drivers 10-2006 6.00 D » Version: 5.85M
» Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver 05-2006 6.00 A » Version: 4.12M
Do they do different things? Should I install both? Thanks.

No, install the driver for the device you have. Check in device manager under Network adapters. It should let you know which wifi chip is installed in your system.
EDIT: Since you just reinstalled...you might not see the brand name of the wifi listed under device manager. If so did your system ship with the Centrino logo, if yes then install the Intel drivers if not then its the Broadcom. -
Update: I also noticed there are 2 Broadcom:
» Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver
05-2006 6.00 A » Version: 4.12M
» Broadcom WLAN Network Adapters Driver
10-2005 4.00 E » Version: 3.33M
Do I need both?Attached Files:
