I have a old compaq presario 2581US. When I bought it initially, the processor info was not getting displayed. As per the advice of the Compaq CSR, I downloaded and installed a driver. The processor was displayed correctly after that. Today I reinstalled Windows XP and after installation the processor name is not getting displayed. I don't remember the exact file name to download from Compaq's website. Can someone help me with identifying the correct file? Thanks.

Well i cant help you out with the file you want but have you tried windows update or CPU-Z, a program that displays information on your processor and other things.

    Click on Start > Run

    Type in dxdiag

It might show the details of processer which you can download drivers for.

I think you can also see that in the Device manager
