    Hi. I'm running a...

    dv9700t
    2.2Ghz Intel Dual Core
    2GB RAM
    320GB Dual HDD
    GeForce 8600M
Intel Pro Wireless N with Bluetooth
    WinXP SP2 (installed myself)

Do I really need the Dual Core Hotfix? Is it possible that it could cause a decrease in performance rather than an increase? I haven't seen any problems without it. Please help. Thanks.

Also...the hotfix included in this forums driver pack has a different one for Intel and AMD and also contains registry files while the one from MS just includes one .exe file. If anyone can explain this, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

(Mostly concerned about whether or not I need it)

    Thanks. I appreciate it.

However, I would still like to know why the hotfix contained in this forums driver pack seems to differ from the single exe file from MS website.

    Thanks again.
