Hi there
I have an HP Elitebook 6390P; I remember seeing for the Thinkpads someone could remove the CDROm Drive and put a hard drive into this slot and then put into the cdrom drive.
I was just wondering is it possible with the HP Elitebooks?

Yes, and the EliteBooks do it much better than Thinkpads. It has hardware RAID support, so with RAID0, you can see extraordinary performance.
I reviewed this back when it was released last year

Thank you!
I'm contemplating getting a SSD and just taking out the main HD and plugging it into the side. Is that possible or do I have to purchase anything else? -
The HP upgradeBay hard drive caddy for the 6930p can be a difficult find if you are looking for one unpopulated.
It took some time to find a bare HP UpgradeBay caddy, but i did get one off eBay.
It seems HP and its resellers charge a hefty price for this part and only seem to sell it populated. -

Thanks both of you for the response. I've upped both of you and now am keeping a look out for upgradeBay on Ebay!
