What is everyones opinion on the best way to go about this with a laptop? Might I be able to run two of these off my DV9000t?

Would it be better to find out what ships in my system; purchase an identical duplicate and fabricate a housing and stand to put it at the same level?

Also if anyone is running a dual monitor setup lets see it!

On my DV6000Z w/NVIDIA GeForce Go 7200 I can run a dual setup. I'm sure the 7600 can do the same.

Dam fine looking monitor for the price. Too bad I'm freakin' broke.

Someone needs to tweak the language filter. Since when is dam-n inappropriate and ****hole isn't. :D

Does the dv6000z have dual monitor outputs? I am just curious if you are using two displays plus the laptop display or just one diaplay and the laptop's.

Could another solution be a PC ExpressCard video card? If they even exist yet or ever?

Or does a docking station let a person add a couple additional monitors.

Oops, I think I made a bad. One display and the laptop. The 6000Z doesn't have dual monitor out ports. Don't know about 9000. The card does support it though. In retrospect, it's probably not what the OP was thinking of. The XB3000 (HP's docking station for the new DV series) does have a monitor out port, but I'm not sure if you can run that and the port on the nb at the same time.

Hmmm...So what would be my best bet? Does anyone know if its a possibility at all to run those two dells? I'd prefer if the monitors matched perfectlly and it'll probably be hard to find the exact one that comes in my puter.

    ahhhhh...otay...I gottcha. Thanks!

From what I read in the thread you linked to, a person would need one of these little beasties:

    http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/gxm/products/dh2go/home.php

I think that is what scott was asking about...and actually I kinda like the idea too. But my problem is I am never at my desk long enough to actually get any work done. Can't sit in one place very long which is why I use the laptops 100% of the time now. Buuuut if I had two of those gorgeous displays to use I might just take a couple extra pills and stay put! hehehehe...

From reading about the Maxtrox dongle-thingy it looks as if you can either use up to three displays if your system supports dual or two from a system that supports only a single. I am guessing it lets you span two displays on the exteral monitors with the primary (the laptop display) acting as a single monitor. No matter how it works I really am intrigued by the idea...

Thanks for posting a great thread topic!!

to answer your question, the Maxtrox splitter should be able to drive the two displays as they support 1280x1024 mode. You won't be able to drive them at their full resolution though.

Yeh, the pics show the 2 widescreen monitors spanning an one image with the nb showing another. It's actually pretty neat and isn't all that expensive. Not sure if the OP wants to shed another $150 for the unit, but it will definitely fit the bill.

And no more pills for you. :D

hahahahaha...not quite up to the level of House yet... ;)

I do think I might talk my better half into that whole setup as my brithday present this summer...she usually-eventually gives in if I whine enough. BTW, please do not tell her that...it's a secret. :D
