    Hey Everybody!!!!
I know this must sound common to you guys, but i have no clue how to dual-boot vista/xp.
Ive search threw your search engines, did a little bit of googling and all i got out of these info is that its duable, but the people in the ineternet who explain it never mention specific stuff like the (sata driver) issue on xp and all.

Could anybody reference me to any website that really was conclusive so that i could dual boot my dv6500.....

    Thanks for your Help All!!!!

Reby gave you some good references, but I have found for just straight dual booting, THIS LINK http://apcmag.com/5485/dualbooting_vista_and_xp
is a really great detailed guide w/ screen shots. It walks you though it and I used it myself in the past. The guide does work. There is a guide for installing XP after Vista, or installing Vista after XP.

I hope you find it useful. ;)

I'm in similar shoes as the OP but have managed to get the SATA drivers and make a slipstreamed cd (nlite is amazing, you don't even need a guide). However, like the apcmag link all other guides online say I need the Windows Anytime Upgrade Disc to do the 'startup repair' after installing XP. The problem is, HP doesn't ship this Windows Anytime Upgrade Disc anymore so I'm kinda lost not knowing what to do. Any help would be awesome, especially if someone did it them self and can tell us what he did to get around this step.

I ordered mine from Compusa or $5.00 and it took about a month to get it. DO NOT ORDER FROM COMPUSA because they are going out of business and you'll probably never get it.

The only thing I can suggest is buying it from Microsoft directly but I haven't been able to find it on their website(s). Try calling Microsoft instead and see if they can get ya one, you can probably order it with express mail service this way. Another option would be to find a friend that has a Vista cd and you can use their cd to reinstall using your cd key. Short of that there isnt anything we can do. :(
