    Hello!

I've got a HP HDX9250EA, which satisfies my entertainment, and power needs!

But unfortunately it's too heavy to lug around with me, so I was looking for another laptop, smaller, and cheaper.

I have won this laptop on eBay, but the specs aren't too clear, and I'm starting to regret winning it.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=220277587954

The seller has said the model is NC6000 (DD522AV) after I emailed him, but can't find the full specs.

What do you think of the total price, and specs overall?

    Thanks,
    Stephen

The link doesn't work. If I was going for a portable laptop to supplement my main, I'd get a laptop that's smaller than 14". I'd be looking more at 12" or 13" laptops, specially, the Lenovo X series. The NC6000 is still fairly heavy at 5.5 pounds. On the other hand, the X series is around 3 pounds. This might not seem like a major weight difference, but you feel it when you're carrying your laptop all over the place.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I'd probably go for the X series tablet which weighs 3.8 pounds. Though it weighs more, it will probably cut down on weight because you won't need paper notebooks.

Well, the link doesn't show the price anymore so I'll just give my opinion on the laptop. Again, for a laptop you're going to be used solely for carrying to class, you should get a smaller laptop. The laptop you listed is actually bigger than the previous one. The HP 6715b is a 15.4" laptop and weighs 5.7 lbs.

6710p is a budget laptop from the business-line, it doesn't have magnesium alloy construction or durable plastic outershield like other ones. Build quality is not up to par with the rest of the line.
Look for the 6910p if you want something durable.
