    The DV 2000z is real slow compared to the DV 5000t. The AC adapter box runs very hot when plugged in. It also has a ton of unwanted software. It is a real nice laptop and appearance is head and shoulders better then the Dv 5000t
    It just runs a lot slower with the max 1.6 processor.

    I'd take the time to get rid of the bloatware, that's always a major culprit in slowing things down unfortunately :(

    What do you mean by slow? What are the two processors that you are comparing and how much RAM are in both systems? I'm sure that would make a difference.

    One clue is when it says "Symantec"...

    Yeah, it'd help to know what the hardware config is. If you only have 512MB of RAM, any shared memory GPU system (like the dv2000z) is going to be slow when compared to a dedicated memory GPU system (384MB of available system memory vs. the full 512MB, WinXP itself taking up most of that). CNet's pulled that stunt before.
