    Dv2000 microphone settings

    hi there. for those with a dv2000, did you have to change any settings to get optimal recording with the built-in microphone? would you be able to record a small clip (like "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog") with the mic? i wanted to hear the quality of the mics.

    You could use Sound Recorder to do that.

    Also, I've used it several times, for voice convos over MSN with friends, and they said they could hear me quite well.

    thanks for the reply. with sound recorder, i get a "hummm"/ white noise along with my voice.
    i think it's the mic boost option, but if i turn that off, then i can't get it to record unless speak very close to the mic.

    also, there is something called "smart audio" in the control panel, with options of voice recognition or internet telephony. is that something that controls the mic?
