    Hi people,

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I did a search and didn't find relevant posts.

Today, my dv2000t started crashing when I close the lid. I am running Windows Vista Business and have set it so that it will "Do Nothing" when I close the lid on both battery and outlet power settings.

I have witnessed it four times already. Two times were on battery and two times were on outlet power. Three of the times, I was using firefox and just wanted to move my computer and closed the lid. The other time, it had just crashed and got to the black screen with white text, telling me that my computer had not shut down correctly. I tried closing the lid then and it crashed again right then.

I'm pretty sure it is crashing since it is an immediate shutdown and I can hear the hard drive spin down. Plus, it gives me the warning about not being shut down correctly everytime. Also, the lid is not even all the way shut when this happens. It gets shut to about a 45 degree angle and crashes.

Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do ? The laptop is still under warranty.

    Thanks

The laptop started crashing every time I closed the lid. I called up HP and got them to repair it.

Sent it in and got it back in 3 weeks. They replaced the "lid switch" and now it doesn't happen anymore.
