Ok now this is confusing i went to the market and shortlisted two very similar models "Dv4 3016TX and Dv4 5008TX". Both are similar in volume but the 5008TX is newer and has speakers above the keyboard where as the 3016TX has them below the keyboard.
The 5008TX also has a woofer which is not very strong which the 3016TX does not. Spec-wise both are similar as you can see under:

The 5008TX is larger in almost every dimension, the 630M is really a relabeled 540M so its weaker to a 6750M. The extra HDD space is not a big bonus both laptops are around the $1K mark with the 3016TX being cheaper. These are the only two laptops i want to buy.

The interesting thing is, my machine, a dv4-3006tx, combines the 5008tx's HDD with everything else on the 3016tx.
I am assuming the 3006tx and 3016tx share the same basic chassis, and yes, my 3006tx also has its speakers on bottom front edge. They output decent sound, although a tad on the weak side as far as volume goes, but perfectly serviceable for a game of Mass Effect when cranked up to >80%.
I would say it's a dead heat between these two - in terms of things that would matter to me, only the GPU spells any real difference. My vote would go for the "older" machine, the 3016tx.
Dv4 3016Tx "6750m" vs Dv4 5008TX "630m" which to get?
